Who's visited Island of Kahoolawe ? Fabby recently traveled by boat, then had to swim to the island because the boat couldn't land but got as close as possible to the landing. They camped 4 days, viewed several archeological sites, and planted seedlings on the former "naval bombing practice" island. Who captains the Coconut Island shuttle boat? "Captain" Robert Mau shuttles passengers from Kaneohe to Coconut Island and back. Who holds both a medical and law degrees? Robert Young holds both degrees Who graduated from University of Hawaii? Honors, Awards, Decorations, etc... Please let us know if you, someone in your family or any classmates have received any special acknowledgments, awards, honors, decorations, etc... For example: Playmate of the Month/Year, Honor Societies, Employee of the year, Nobel Prize, Pulitzer's, Academy Awards, Tonys, Emmys, Father/Mother of the Year, Salesman of the Year, Congressional Medal of Honor, Purple Heart, etc., etc., etc., Kudos to Patrick Melim for his Purple Heart and Silver Star decorations received for heroic and meritorious service in Viet Nam. Karen Dubrovin graduated "Magna Cum Laude" from Seattle University.

What you had to wear for freshman "Initiation Day" and who was your "senior" mentor/leader? How "sharp" the guys thought they looked in their baggy "drape" pants and the 'shaka' "black and white oxfords"?. We're still waiting for them to come back in style... well baggy is back anyway! And the wahines with those huge "crenalin(?)" slips and pedal pushers? How 'bout that... pedal pushers are back in style!... there may still be hope for the "drapes"!. Fuhgetaboutit! Being one of Sr. Jo-Jo's "sheep of the week"? Kellys and Kapiolani (KDI) Drive Inns and what about Scotty's Drive Inn on Keeamoku? (10 cent burgers) The motor-boat rides on the Ala Wai Canal? Moonlight picnics at Ala Moana Park? "Making out" at Ala Moana Park and Tantalus? Who you watched the "submarine races" with at Diamond Head? All the ROTC Parades; Being "shocked" when the ROTC Drill Team fired blank rounds in their M1 rifles? ROTC "Field Day" competitions at the old "Honolulu Stadium"? When the ROTC Drill Team was featured on TV, on one of the local Dance Shows? Playing basketball and volleyball "bare-footed" on the hot asphalt courts! Ouch!! Basketball practices and intramurals at Kaimuki Gym. Checking out the girls/guys at Rainbow Rollerland? Helping prepare for the Maryknoll Carnivals? The "Spring Festivals"? Where are they now? Sister Joseph Maureen "Sister Jo-Jo" left the Maryknoll order and is rumored to be married and a psychologist in Missouri! Sister Christina Francis It is reported that the prettiest nun during our time also left the Maryknoll order... whereabouts unknown. Sister Ana Doloritas? Sister Margaret James? Sister Ruth Marie? Brother Venard Brother Venard has become a permanent fixture at Maryknoll and is the only Senior Brother in Hawaii. Father James Boglarsky Deceased and is buried at Maryknoll, NY Father James Jackson Resides in a Maryknoll New York nursing home. Father Joseph Avery Father Avery died about two years ago of cancer and is buried at Maryknoll, NY Father John Gallagher Father Joseph Matheis Father Matheis recently suffered a stroke and now resides in a Maryknoll New York nursing home.
